Awesome Paleo/Vegan Chocolate Mousse!

Oh wow, I am in chocolate heaven!

Reboot friendly chocolate mousse, only 3 ingredients, and decadent and delicious!!  How can that be? Let me tell you all about it.

Day 14 of my no sugar, no starch, no alcohol, no dairy and no grains challenge, and the only thing I crave is chocolate.

I pinned this recipe on Pinterest a while ago, and today, when I was wondering how I'm going to last another two weeks without a good proper chocolate fix, I remembered this recipe, and saw I do have, mostly, the right ingredients.

The 3 main ingredients are coconut cream, dates and cocoa powder.

I didn't have any coconut cream, only a quarter tin of coconut milk, so I used that, and only about 5 dates, and a small tablespoon of cocoa powder.  I forgot about the vanilla essence.  It is quite calorie dense, but such a small portion for a Sunday treat - just what I needed!!

It took me about 5 minutes, from start to finish - so another bonus of this chocolate mousse, besides having no added sugar or dairy, is how quick and easy it is!  I don't have a food processor, but the stick blender worked fine.

Mia helped me lick the bowl, and she loved it too.  Yay!

Find the recipe here!  This blogger who created the recipe is my hero!

Try it, and enjoy!
xx

  1. Jess, I couldn't be happier to know you enjoyed the mousse:) It's good that you only had enough ingredients to make a small portion, this mousse is addictive, isn't it?;) I was lucky I had my family to share it with, otherwise...

On a side now, I've just read your profile and was wondering if you have tried a juice feast for weight loss (mostly green juice)? Easiest, most delicious way I know for losing stubborn kilos.

  2. At first I thought you were going to talk about the avo one, and too be honest I am still sceptical about that one lol, especially since mousse is never really my first choice dessert anyway. This one however sounds delish, and I am happy that I can eat it on vegan too!! Will give it a try on the weekend, thanks for sharing!

    1. Ooooh yuck, no, the avo one sounds gross!! Cannot imagine that, avo and cocoa sounds like a weird preggy-craving!
This one is so divine. YAY for u to have it on Vegan, definitely try it! I like that it's a healthier dessert option for kiddies too!

    2. Oh, ladies, you don't know what you're missing:) The avo mousse is amazing! I don't know if it's OK to post a link here, but just google "Tort raw vegan cu ciocolata si fructe de padure" (raw vegan cake with chocolate and berries) by Just Love Cookin'. That's the crowning glory of avo-choco mousse/ganache. I've made it twice with both walnuts and hazelnuts, it's divine! The crunchy cake and the divine ganache, oh my!

  3. Hmmmm that sounds so yummy! I really want to make this soon; and want to do a calorie analysis, because I'm sure it will beat the fat content of normal choccie mousse. Yum yum!

    1. Debs, I think if you scroll down and read the comments on Vegan Magic's blog post, somebody did do a calorie analysis - or maybe it wasn't the calories itself but the fat, carb, protein content, I can't remember, but I do remember some kind of breakdown.
You really must try it, I am sooooo impressed!

  4. Debs, there are a couple comments showing/linking to the calorie analysis, and the longest comment shows the nutrition value of this mousse, if interested. For me that's the most important aspect of it...well, after its taste of course;) If however you find the calorie/fat content too much, there's the most innovative, impressive alternative by Cookistry - a different kind of mousse. Just chocolate and water. http://www.cookistry.com/2011/06/different-kind-of-mousse.html
